Bitcoin Cash Fund 48 Hour Challenge Raises More than a Quarter Million Dollars

It seems that it is not only the Bitcoin community that can pull off big donations from a single post.

In December 2017, people from the Bitcoin community had donated with the intention to make Andreas Antonopoulous a millionaire in response to Roger Ver’s jab on the Bitcoin proponent.

Now, Bitcoin Cash is following the same steps. However, it is not to donate funds to an individual, but to the Bitcoin Cash Fund – an organization which in its own words “exists to make sure Bitcoin Cash gets into people’s hands.”

At around 1 AM Eastern Time on Saturday, March 3, 2018, Bitcoin Cash supporter with the Reddit handle of jarenfeser made a post stating that “over the next 48 hours I will match all donations made to The Bitcoin Cash Fund (up to 300 BCH)”.

The response from the Bitcoin Cash community was overwhelming, and the fund request raised a quarter million dollars in mere hours.

The Bitcoin Cash Fund aims to market Bitcoin Cash through various marketing and awareness initiatives. Its primary objective is to tell as many people as it could about Bitcoin Cash and the positive features that it brings to the table.

As of press time, the request had been well on its way to achieve its matching donation of 300 BCH.
