Women have eventually started to appreciate the growth potential of cryptocurrencies. They are no more reluctant to invest in Crypto. According to one report, the percentage of women wanting to invest in cryptocurrency has gone up from 6% to 13%, reports City A.M June 9, 2018.
This report was based on a market research carried out by a UK cryptocurrency exchange called London Block Exchange. The reports state that cryptocurrency is catching up with women investors. The popularity is more amongst Millineal generation. It was found that one out of every five women in the millennial class expressed their desire to invest in cryptocurrency.
As per the research, women take a more strategic stand when it comes to investing. They are 50% less likely to suffer fear of missing out(FOMO). The report further states that women are more collaborative in their investment. They are twice more likely than their male counterparts to consult their friends and family members before committing to an investment. They want to make an informed decision, rather than a random decision. On the other hand, men are more likely to invest on their own. Men are less likely to consult before investing. They choose it alone.
Early studies conducted by Etoro crypto exchange reflected that up until recently the market was men dominated. Men accounted for 91.5% of all the investor and women only accounted for 8.5% of the investor.
London Block Exchange’s senior business analyst Agnes de Roeyer, however, believes this trend could be undergoing a change. According to City A.M., Roeyer said,
“There’s still a common misconception that cryptocurrency is a game for men, but we’ve seen hundreds of women sign up for our exchange in the last few months and some of the most inspiring and knowledgeable investors, leading the way in the industry are female.”
