Tennis Veteran Serena Williams Invests in Major Crypto Exchange – Coinbase


According to an Instagram post released by Serena Williams on April 17 that in the year 2014, Serena launched her investment business ‘Serena Ventures’ and secretly invested in more than 30 firms, including one of the major cryptocurrency exchange called Coinbase.

As per Serena Williams official website of ‘Serena Ventures,’ the cumulative market cap of her investments are worth $12 billion, and the diversity of the owners of the fir in which Serena Ventures has invested is approximately 6o percent. Moreover, the website highlights that the majority of the funds are concentrated on firms which are in their early stages looks forward to collaborating with reputed and portfolio companies while expanding the partnership.

Conferring to Wikipedia, Serena Williams has won a total of four gold medals at the Olympics. Serena Williams is also ranked the worlds best player at eight different occasions in singles by Women Tennis Association. To add further, In the month of August in the year 2018, a business news outlet estimated Serena’s total net worth to be about $180 million.

As reported previously, reports by Reuters show that the venture capital investments in the cryptocurrency and blockchain startup space will probably set a new all-time high in the year 2019. Furthermore, IDC Government Insight reports claim that the federal government of the United States is on the road to increase its spendings on blockchain to $123.5 million by 2022, which is essentially 1000% increase to what the spendings were ($10.7 million) in the year 2017.
