According to a press release dated January 18, THUIFR (Institue for Fintech Research at Tsinghua University), Beijing (A major Chinese research university) has come with a blockchain technology research scholarship (BRSP) in collaboration with Ripple with the intention of bringing together the best graduate students in China in order to educate them about global blockchain regulations and developments in the industry.
Reports suggest that all the graduate students who will be a part of this educational program will have an approach to all the advanced knowledge in the blockchain space along with being permitted to participate in corporate events and visits. The Director of International Cooperation and Development at THUIFR, Ivy Gao emphasised that for future research, BRSP will be millennial while it will also enhance the careers of students in the blockchain industry.
A member of Ripple’s Partnership and Global Ops department, Emi Yoshikawa on Twitter stated that ‘Ripple is “excited to work with Tsinghua University Institute for Fintech Research and help develop the next generation talent for blockchain in China!’ According to previous reports, Ripple joins hands with top global universities under its University Blockchain Research Initiative essentially aiming to back education in blockchain and crypto industry. It was in the month of June 2018 when this project was first announced following a report that it had invested $50 million in 17 universities globally for blockchain education.
According to reports, The Tsinghua University is one of the top universities in Beijing, and it also is listed in China’s nine most prestigious universities, known as The C9 League. Tsinghua University in the past has also joined hands with a subsidiary of a Chinese Institutional Financial Firm in order to develop a blockchain research center. Lately, a club of researchers who belong to the top Universities in the United States came forward to launch Unit-e, which is a new cryptocurrency with the intention of providing a globally scalable decentralised payments network.
